How to Set Up WhatsApp Notifications with Reeserved

Send booking confirmations and reminders via WhatsApp. Works with any BSP.

Before you start

  • A Reeserved account on Growth plan or higher (WhatsApp requires a paid plan).
  • A WhatsApp Business API account through a BSP (Interakt, AiSensy, Wati, Gupshup, etc.).
  • Pre-approved message templates in your BSP dashboard.
  • Your BSP's API endpoint and authentication token.

Step-by-step setup

Follow these steps to connect WhatsApp Notifications to your Reeserved account.

  1. 1

    Choose a WhatsApp BSP

If you don't have one yet, sign up with a WhatsApp Business Service Provider. Popular options in India: Interakt, AiSensy, Wati, Gupshup. They handle WhatsApp Business API access.

  2. 2

    Create message templates

In your BSP dashboard, create message templates for: booking confirmation, booking reminder (24h before), and booking cancellation. Templates must be approved by WhatsApp (takes 1-24 hours).

  3. 3

    Get your API credentials

From your BSP dashboard, get your API endpoint URL and authentication token. Each BSP has a slightly different format.

  4. 4

    Open Reeserved Settings

Log in to your Reeserved dashboard and go to Settings > Notifications.

  5. 5

    Configure WhatsApp

Enter your BSP API endpoint, authentication token, and map your template names to Reeserved events (confirmation, reminder, cancellation).

  6. 6

    Map template variables

Map Reeserved variables (customer name, booking date, booking time, service name) to your WhatsApp template placeholders ({{1}}, {{2}}, etc.).

  7. 7

    Test it

Create a test booking with your own phone number. You should receive a WhatsApp confirmation within seconds. Check that all variable values (name, date, time) are correct.

Troubleshooting

Messages not being delivered

Check that the customer's phone number has WhatsApp. Verify your BSP API credentials are correct. Check your BSP dashboard for delivery reports and error logs.

Template rejected by WhatsApp

WhatsApp requires templates to follow their commerce policy. Avoid promotional language in transactional templates. Use clear, factual booking details only.

Variables showing as blank in messages

Check the variable mapping in Settings. Each {{N}} placeholder in your template must be mapped to a Reeserved field (customer_name, booking_date, etc.).

Tips

  • WhatsApp has 95%+ open rates — far higher than email or SMS. It's the best channel for reducing no-shows.
  • Keep templates short and factual. Include: business name, service, date, time. Customers can reply to ask questions.
  • Set up SMS as a fallback for customers who don't have WhatsApp.
  • Monitor your WhatsApp quota usage in Settings. Upgrade your plan if you're approaching limits.
